Sony has launched two new mobile phones this year at the Consumer Electronics Show, CES 2014 at Las Vegas. Great irony, specs of one of them was leaked/expected (Xperia Z1 Compact) and rumors spread that it would be named as Xperia Z1s. Now that finally both the models are unveiled at the CES 2014, we now learn that both are different mobile handsets, successors to the flagship Z1. It was CES 2013 where Sony Launched the Xperia Z, its flagship waterproof phone, and now CES 2014 it launched two successors. Let’s learn about them one by one
Sony Xperia Z1 Compact
If there can be anything similar to old wine in a new bottle, its here, the quote being retouched as old wine in a smaller bottle. The Xperia Z1s is the pocket friendly version of the flagship Xperia Z1. The Sony Xperia Z1 compact sports a 4.3-inch 720p (343ppi) display, quad-core 2.2GHz processor, 2 gigabytes of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, external microSd card slot, a 20.7 MP camera and a 2,300mAh battery. In short, it is the same Xperia Z1 pushed into a smaller drapery. More about it is discussed in a separate post.
Sony Xperia Z1S
Sony Xperia Z1S had the advantage of being the bigger twin out of the compact and Z1S duo due to early announcement. Hence, this one is the first ever Sony Smartphone to become a Waterproof phone, and not only Water Resistant. However, same ratings are for the compact too, but always, first come is first served. Remaining things are entirely same, inherited as it is from the Xperia Z1. The Sony Xperia Z1s is the full size enhanced version of Z1 specially customized for and exclusively available on T-Mobile.
“As a waterproof smartphone complete with the best of Sony’s technology, Xperia Z1s breaks the mold of not only what you can do with a smartphone, but where you can take it. Building on the momentum of the successful partnership for the launch of Xperia Z, T-Mobile’s shared vision of delivering an uncompromised mobile experience makes them the perfect exclusive partner to bring Xperia Z1s to the U.S.”
