Open Automotive Alliance: Google partners with Audi, GM, Honda, Hyundai, Nvidia at CES 2014


There are two most cool things that catch everybody’s eyes- Mobiles & Cars. Both procure status symbol & style. Have you ever thought of combing these together? Yes!!! Well, Google read your mind. Google along with the auto industry is committed to work together to introduce Android platforms into cars. Google along with automobile manufacturer companies Audi, General Motors (GM), Honda, Hyundai and the chipmaker company Nvidia formed the Open Automotive Alliance (OAA) in order to make a car technology which is safe & intuitive. The OAA group is planning to mould it in the cars starting in 2014. This technology will allow developers to design & create new experiences to the drivers & the passengers in a safe way.

How it the Open Automotive Alliance going to work

Now a days Smartphone is a daily life routine for many people. Specially android is the most used smartphone platform. It is used by millions of people in mobile, tablets, smartwatch, smart TVs etc. Automakers can use this platform to bring apps to work with the car. For example, your dashboard reminds you bring daily things when car reaches the store, play your favourite playlist from the phone, safe lock the car with various security applications or navigate with the help of Google maps. The drivers can perform various tasks without losing focus off the road

We all hope that we are going to see the first cars with android integration by the end of this year.
